Intentional Entertaining

Little surprise moments for guests are some of our favorite things to create every day at D’Amico Hospitality. It’s those thoughtful, unexpected touches that turn a good event into a truly memorable one. As we head into 2026, we’re seeing a clear shift toward experiences that feel personal, playful, and intentional. Below are our 2026 ins and outs—the trends we’re embracing and what we’re happily leaving behind.
In:
Mini beverage pairings
If you’ve been to a D’Amico Hospitality event, chances are you’ve tried our mini chicken tinga taco. What you might not have experienced yet is that same bite paired with a mini prickly pear agua fresca. Or a passed wagyu slider with a mini local beer. Or a freshly shucked oyster with a sip of effervescent champagne.
Mini beverage pairings turn familiar menu items into moments. They’re fun, endlessly customizable, and especially Instagrammable – but more importantly, they create a sense of surprise and delight for guests. Whether playful or elevated, these pairings encourage interaction and give guests something to talk about long after the event ends.
Actually good (and thoughtful) non-alcoholic options
Non-alcoholic events and zero-proof guests are more popular than ever. While a lemon LaCroix or Diet Coke will always have a place, we believe non-alcoholic beverages deserve the same creativity and care as cocktails.

Think zero-proof cocktails with layered flavors, fresh pressed juices, herbal sodas, or seasonal mocktails designed to pair with the menu. When done well, these options don’t feel like a compromise – they feel intentional and inspirational.
Our goal is for every guest to have the same elevated experience, no matter their beverage preferences. When non-alcoholic drinks are thoughtfully crafted, guests feel included, considered, and celebrated.
Beautiful buffets and stations (no more bare & boring tables)
Buffets and stations are no longer just about convenience; they’re becoming focal points of an event’s design. Layered heights, abundant displays, intentional styling, and custom signage transform food stations into immersive experiences.

From overflowing market tables to curated action stations, these setups invite guests to explore, linger, and engage. When food is presented beautifully, it enhances the overall atmosphere and reinforces that every detail was considered – not just what’s on the plate, but how it’s experienced.
“Cakes” and towers of all kinds
While our Executive Pastry Chef Leah and her team create some of the best cake we’ve ever tasted, we also know that not every group is made up of cake people. But are they pickle cake people? Probably. Tiramisu tower people? Almost definitely.

Pickle or radicchio “cakes”, butter towers, or cocktail inspired dessert towers offer a playful twist on tradition. These serve as functional decor on crudité or market tables or simply as great conversation starters.
These “cakes” aren’t about replacing dessert – they’re about reimagining it. They feel unexpected, memorable, and tailored to the crowd, which is exactly what modern events are leaning into.
Out:
Separating your menu from your identity
Your menu should feel like it belongs at your event – not like it was chosen from a default list. If the vibe is vibrant, bold, or unexpected, the food should reflect that energy. You shouldn’t feel obligated to serve standard chicken and beef “just in case” someone is hesitant – even if your uncle isn’t quite sure what romesco is.
When food, decor, and overall vision are aligned, the event feels cohesive and purposeful. Guests notice when flavors, presentation, and atmosphere are telling the same story. A menu that complements the purpose of the event enhances the experience rather than interrupting it and often encourages guests to try something new (and love it).
Boring vegetarian options
Like non-alcoholic beverages, vegetarian options deserve the same level of creativity and care as every other part of the menu. Gone are the days when a simple grilled vegetable plate or plain pasta is considered “good enough.”

In 2026, guests expect vegetarian dishes that are bold and satisfying – dishes that stand on their own rather than feeling like an afterthought. When plant-forward options are designed with flavor, texture, and presentation in mind, they appeal to everyone at the table, not just those avoiding meat. A great vegetarian dish shouldn’t feel like a compromise; it should be craveable.
Overlooked signage
Bar, station, and welcome signage are some of the easiest opportunities to set the tone for an event. Thoughtful signage helps guide guests, tell a story, and reinforce the overall aesthetic before they take their first bite.

Custom menus, playful language, and intentional fonts elevate the experience and make guests feel cared for and considered. Whether subtle and elegant or bold and whimsical, signage should feel like a natural extension of the event’s design. When done well, it can exponentially enhance the guest experience.
Following trends for the sake of trends
We are strong believers in doing what makes you happy and what matters most to you and your guests. Weddings and events should be a reflection of the people hosting them – it is their celebration, after all.
Chasing Instagram trends often leads to experiences guests have already seen (and scrolled past). Instead, our team loves creating menus and moments that feel personal, thoughtful, and true to the host. When events are designed with intention rather than imitation, they naturally feel fresh and far more memorable.
Trends will come and go. Meaningful experiences, however, always stay in style.
